With Eggers both writing and directing the retelling, it's safe to assume there will be some twists and turns, though—given the author's signature psychedelic visual style—the visuals in the new release are every bit as impressive as the original. One prime example? The first still, which shows Depp's Ellen Hutter gasping for breath, tears welling up in her eyes, as the shadow of a disembodied hand obscures her face. More haunting images follow, as do two harrowing trailers.
On February 13, 2023, Deadline broke the story that Emma Corrin had joined the cast as Anna Harding, alongside Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Willem Dafoe, and Bill Skarsgård. The latter was set to take on the role of the deadly Count Orlok, with Depp as the object of his affections. More news followed on March 3: current Bond frontrunner Aaron Taylor-Johnson had also joined, as had Simon McBurney and Ralph Ineson. The 1922 film opens in the fictional 19th-century German town of Wisborg, where creepy estate agent Knock is preparing to send an employee, Thomas Hutter, to meet a glamorous new client who lives in a castle deep in the Transylvanian Mountains. Upon arrival, Hutter is intrigued and then frightened by Count Orlok's behavior: He sleeps in a coffin during the day; attempts to suck Hutter's blood after he accidentally cuts his finger; and then sees a picture of Hutter's wife, Ellen, with whom he becomes obsessed. Orlok then sails to Wisborg to track her down, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.
If the Living Room is a more formal, private space, the Upstairs Bar at the Mark’s Club is designed for socializing, with more experimental cocktails available at the restored bar, including the Mayfair Swizzle. The updated Morris & Co wallpaper is a custom print reminiscent of a pattern installed by Mark Birley in the ’70s. After transporting audiences to a 17th-century New England forest in The Witch, a windswept 1890s island in The Lighthouse and the rolling hills of 10th-century Iceland in The Northman, Robert Eggers is heading to Transylvania for his latest horror film: Nosferatu, a gothic horror film inspired by FW Murnau’s silent German Expressionist classic of the same name about a vampire who travels to Germany to pursue a beautiful young woman. Best of all, the cast is fantastic.Vist our store at: AaronShirt LLC
